In Microsoft Ignite 2018 Conference, Microsoft announced GA release of Azure Data Studio. In preview, this tool was known as SQL Operations Studio. Today we will see a new extension – MSSQL Instance Insights.
Open Azure Data Studio and go to Extension. Search MSSQL and click on Install for MSSQL Instance Insights. This will open a Github link and download VSIX of the release you want.
Now Go to Azure Data Studio extensions, Click on install from VSIX option as shown below:
Now just Click on Reload for MSSQL Instance Insights. Connect SQL Server Instance.
This will open a new tab for MSSQL Instance Insights. On this tab, we can get lot of information about – Top 10 instance level waits detail, Number of Virtual Log Files for all the databases and Extended Event based information like System Stats, IO Stats and Memory Stats.
